Removals in the Racecourse Estate

UB5 — the Racecourse Estate and the streets around it, where most of the local maisonette work is.

The Racecourse Estate is where most of our maisonette work is, and it is a good example of why a phone quote for Northolt is unreliable: the roads are easy and the stairs are not.

The maisonettes

An external stair rising to a first-floor front door, frequently with a shared landing below. Everything is carried outdoors before it is carried indoors, which changes the covering, the vehicle position and the crew size — see flats and maisonettes for how we price it.

The houses

Solidly built, with generous rooms, wide internal doorways and proper stairs. Among the easiest buildings we work in anywhere, whatever assumptions people arrive with.

Access and standing

Wide estate roads with room to turn and standing outside most blocks. The one thing we check is the older courts, where turning space is tighter than a map suggests.

Nearby

Mandeville is south and Petts Hill north-east.

Local detail

the Racecourse Estate questions

What is the stock?

Substantial ex-council houses and maisonettes, laid out on wide estate roads with plenty of standing.

Are the maisonettes the main thing here?

They are. An external stair to a first-floor front door is the defining access question on this estate and we look at it before quoting.

Is the access good otherwise?

Very. Wide roads, room to turn, and standing outside most blocks. Better than a great deal of inner London.

Are the houses easy to move?

Among the easiest on our patch — generous rooms, wide internal doorways and proper stairs.

Send both addresses and a rough list. We will check the access and send a written quote.
